Hiroshi Ito is the Dean and Professor in the Childcare Department of the Junior College at Chukyo Gakuin University. He earned a Master’s degree in English Linguistics from Nagoya Gakuin University. His primary academic specialization is English phonetics and phonology, with research interests centered on the acquisition of English intonation and pronunciation among Japanese English learners. Ito is a member of the Phonetic Society of Japan and the English Linguistic Society of Japan. In his teaching role, he delivers courses such as Basic English, Applied English, English Expression, Medical English, English Communication A and B, Basic Seminar I and II, Regional Contribution III, and Regional Contribution IV.
Ito has contributed to several scholarly publications in the university's research bulletins. Notable works include a co-authored study titled “A study on the reality of English activities in private kindergartens in Gifu Prefecture and the involvement of nursery staff” published in 2019 in the Chukyo Gakuin Junior College Research Bulletin, Volume 49, Issue 1. Other publications encompass “An examination of the branding of Kagoshima Kurobuta pork” (2020, Volume 50, Issue 1), “Efforts in specialty product direct sales in Mizunami City – Case study of Mizunami Bono Pork” (2021, Chukyo Gakuin University Research Bulletin, Volume 1, Issue 1), “Case study on branding domestic beef – Focus on Kagoshima Kurogyu” (2022, Volume 2, Issue 1), and “An examination of efforts in large-scale Wagyu beef production in Okinawa Prefecture – Focus on JA Ishigaki Gyu” (2023, University Bulletin, Volume 3, Issue 1). Additionally, he co-authored “Current Status and Challenges of Domestic Branded Pork,” a research commissioned by Mizunami City in 2018. Ito has also presented at public lectures, including “Foreign Understanding and Coexistence” at the 2016 Mizunami City PTA Union Education Research Conference in February 2017.
