Dr. Hlekani Muchazotida Kabiti serves as a researcher at the Risk and Vulnerability Science Centre and the Centre for Global Change at Walter Sisulu University. She earned her PhD in Rural Development from the University of Venda in 2017. Her academic qualifications also include a Master of Science in Agriculture with a focus on Agricultural Economics, a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education. Dr. Kabiti is an NRF Y2-rated researcher affiliated with the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Walter Sisulu University. Her work centres on rural development, agricultural economics, and agribusiness management, including studies on climate vulnerability and adaptation pathways among smallholder sheep farmers and related topics in sustainable rural development. She has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed research articles available through academic databases such as Google Scholar. In addition to her research contributions, Dr. Kabiti has experience in higher education and research project management focused on sustainable rural development initiatives.
