Dr. Md. Iftekharul Amin is a Professor at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, appointed in July 2023 after serving as Associate Professor from May 2019 to July 2023, Assistant Professor from August 2013 to May 2019, and Lecturer from February 2010 to August 2013. He concurrently serves as Coordinator of the Executive MBA Program and Warden of IBA Hostel. Prior to joining IBA, he held the position of Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cumilla, from November 2008 to January 2010. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Information Technology from the Institute of Information Technology, University of Dhaka in 2023, with a thesis titled 'An Integrated Study on the Aspects Embracing e-Commerce Platforms in Bangladesh'; an MBA majoring in Marketing (CGPA 3.68) from IBA, University of Dhaka in 2009; and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Dhaka in 2005, where he secured the 5th merit position.
Recognized as an expert in quantitative research and analysis, Dr. Amin's research specializations include Marketing Research, E-Commerce, Consumer Behavior Study, Women Empowerment and SME, and Integrated Marketing Communication. He has contributed to projects for development organizations such as the World Bank, UNFPA, CARE, and WHO, prepared strategic plans for the Bangladesh Police, led marketing research for private organizations, and participated in numerous recruitment processes. Key publications encompass 'Impact of Work from Home on Employee Performance in Context of Bangladesh' (European Journal of Business and Management, 2022), 'An Application of TAM and TRI on the Factors Affecting Internet Banking Adoption in Bangladesh' (Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Business, 2022), 'Macroeconomic and Firm-specific Factors Influencing Non-Performing Loans in Bangladesh: A Panel Data Regression Approach' (Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Business, 2021), 'Men as Partners of Positive Change: Masculinities and Women’s Access to Business Opportunities in Bangladesh' (Journal of Business Administration, 2019), and 'Assessment of Factors Contributing to Adoption of Mobile Financial Services: A Perspective of Bangladesh' (Journal of Business Administration, 2020). Among his honors are the Director General Award for the 68th Law and Administration Training Course (2009), Sumitomo Scholarship (2001-2005), Faculty Scholarship for B.Sc. results (2005), and multiple board scholarships. He coordinates and trains business courses under IBA's Management Development Program, serves on ministry committees, and holds leadership roles in organizations including the Center for Men and Masculinity Studies and United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh.
