Indu Pal Kaur is a Professor of Pharmaceutics in the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Panjab University, Chandigarh. She obtained her M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics in 1987 from the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, followed by her Ph.D. Boasting over 34 years of teaching and research experience, she has occupied key administrative and academic roles, including Former Chairperson of the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, DPIIT-IPR Chair Professor, Coordinator of the DPIIT-IPR Chair, and Coordinator of the UGC Networking Resource Centre in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Professor Kaur's research specializes in pharmaceutics, nanodrug delivery systems, genotoxicity testing, and topical, oral, and central nervous system drug delivery. Her scholarly impact is evidenced by more than 13,000 citations on Google Scholar in areas such as pharmaceutical nanotechnology, solid lipid nanoparticles, biomaterials, and biotechnology. She has earned prestigious accolades, including the Dr. (Mrs.) Manjushree Pal Memorial Award for the Best Pharmaceutical Scientist in 2023, National Intellectual Property Awards in 2021 and 2022, the WIPO National Award for Inventors, and the Best Scientist Award. As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, she conducted research and lecturing at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, from November 2017 to May 2018. In 2024, she was invited as a Distinguished Guest to India's 75th Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. Her contributions to intellectual property and technology transfer have significantly influenced advancements in drug delivery systems within the pharmaceutical field.
