Dr. Iqra Hussain holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Amity University Noida, India (2021), an M.Sc. in Information Technology from Islamic University of Science and Technology, India (2014), and a B.Sc. in Information Technology from University of Kashmir, India (2011). She currently serves as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Computing and Applied Technology department within the College of Technological Innovation at Zayed University Dubai Campus. Previously, she was Assistant Professor (Adjunct) at several Dubai-based institutions, including Curtin University in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (May 2023 to September 2023), Amity University, Murdoch University, and the American University in the Emirates.
Dr. Hussain specializes in research areas encompassing cryptography and network security, cyber security, digital forensics and ethical hacking, and AI and security. Her notable publications include 'A secure IoT-based power plant control using RSA and DES encryption techniques in data link layer' (2017, International Conference on Infocom Technologies and Unmanned Systems), 'Proposing an encryption/decryption scheme for IoT communications using binary-bit sequence and multistage encryption' (2018, 7th International Conference on Reliability, Infocom Technologies), 'Security in ZigBee using steganography for IoT communications' (2018, System Performance and Management Analytics), 'Carrier data security using public key steganography in ZigBee' (2016, International Conference on Innovation and Challenges in Cyber Security), and 'Presenting IoT Security based on Cryptographic Practices in Data Link Layer in Power Generation Sector' (2020, 8th International Conference on Reliability, Infocom Technologies). She has taught courses such as Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, Data Communications, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Unix Operating System and Shell Programming, Object-Oriented Programming with Java, and Network Security. Dr. Hussain holds certifications including Certified Ethical Hacker, Cisco Python Essentials 1 and 2, Exploring Internet of Things with Cisco Packet Tracer, and Introduction to Cybersecurity. She serves as Advisor for the Cybersecurity Club at Zayed University Dubai Campus, Judge for the CTI 4th Digital Transformation Hackathon 2025, Subreviewer for SRC 2025 and URC 2024, and Member of the Technical Program Committee for SRC 2025 and URC 2024.
