Isaac Nape is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Physics at the University of the Witwatersrand. He holds a BSc, BScHons, MSc and PhD, all from the University of the Witwatersrand. His research focuses on quantum photonics, structured light and orbital angular momentum, with applications in quantum information processing, computing and communications.
Nape serves as the inaugural Optica Emerging Leader in Optics Chair at Wits, advancing quantum research in South Africa. He has received the Silver Jubilee Medal from the South African Institute of Physics in 2023 and an Emerging Leader Award from the South African Quantum Initiative. Nape is recognised internationally for his contributions to quantum science and technologies.
