Ismar de Souza Carvalho is a full professor in the Geology Department at the Instituto de Geociências of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. He earned his undergraduate degree in Geology from the Universidade de Coimbra in 1984, a master’s degree in Geology from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 1989, and a D.Sc.
