Janet Kim serves as the Divisional Services Administrator for the Biostatistics Centre within the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the University of Otago's Dunedin School of Medicine, part of the Division of Health Sciences. In this role, she provides critical administrative support to the Centre's team, ensuring smooth operations for biostatistical services that underpin health-related research across the university. These services encompass research design, statistical methodology, data analysis, and collaboration on projects ranging from clinical trials to epidemiological studies. Established in 2017, the Biostatistics Centre initially operated as a research unit directly under the Division of Health Sciences before returning to departmental reporting. The Biostatistics Centre is led by prominent academics, including current Director Research Associate Professor Claire Cameron, who has 35 years of experience in statistics, including national statistics roles, hospital data analysis, wildlife studies such as Hector’s dolphins survival models, teaching statistics at Otago, and health sciences research since 2011. Former Director Professor Robin Turner now heads the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine. Other team members include Research Associate Professor Ari Samaranayaka, Andrew Gray, Dr Ella Iosua, and Dr Nisa Widyastuti. Janet Kim's administrative contributions support these experts in advancing biostatistical applications in public health.
