His distinctive style employs a vibrant colour palette with exaggerated and saturated colours to evoke energy and emotion. Low practices landscape realism, utilizing vivid colour, light, and texture. He combines soft brushwork with sharp edges to produce crisp, light-filled perspectives of an exaggeratedly positive environment. Through his paintings, he celebrates landscapes that have shaped his life and vision, inviting viewers to experience the joy and wonder of the world. His artwork has been featured at Gallery De Novo, including pieces depicting University of Otago buildings and grounds for exhibitions such as the Around Christmas Exhibition 2025. Additionally, Jason Low has served as a judge for the University of Otago Bulletin Photo Competition, where he praised winning images for their amazing use of colour in challenging environments, beautiful soft yet strong compositions, and lighting. He offered advice to participants that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
