Dr. Jason Wister serves as a Senior Lecturer and Senior Professional Practice Fellow in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the Dunedin School of Medicine, within the Faculty of Medicine, Health Sciences Division of the University of Otago. He is the 5th Year Paediatrics Convenor, contributing significantly to the education of medical students in advanced paediatrics. Additionally, Dr. Wister holds the position of Senior Medical Officer as a Neonatology Specialist, integrating clinical practice with academic responsibilities at Dunedin Hospital. His roles encompass teaching, convening paediatric modules such as Infant Follow-Through, and supporting the curriculum in child health and neonatology.
Dr. Wister obtained his MD from Loma Linda University and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). University of Otago calendars from 2020 to 2023 list him as a Senior Research Fellow in paediatrics. His scholarly output includes co-authorship on the conference proceeding 'Liquid gold for the golden hours: Colostrum oral immunotherapy (COIT)' published in the Journal of Paediatrics & Child Health (2023, Supplement 1, pp. 82-83) with colleagues B.
