Jeffrey Russell serves as Lecturer in Communication at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, where he also acts as Undergraduate Business Co-Advisor in the Virani Undergraduate School of Business. In his teaching role, which began in 2018, he delivers courses on communications strategy and structure, presentation skills, and writing skills tailored for MBA students, including working professionals. He has developed curricula emphasizing practical, immediately applicable skills, earning positive student feedback. Russell holds a Master of Business Administration in General Management from The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business (2014, GPA 3.7) and a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Ancient History from the same institution (2007, GPA 3.7, Liberal Arts Honors).

Prior to joining Rice, Russell amassed extensive professional experience across consulting, government, and military sectors. Since 2014, he has been a Senior Consultant at Capgemini Consulting, leading projects in digital transformation, organizational design, governance models, and change management for Fortune 50 companies. Notable contributions include designing the operating and governance model for a Fortune 50 insurance company’s $500 million Digital Transformation Program Management Office; developing enterprise Customer Relationship Management strategy, leadership roles, and organizational structure; facilitating digital capability workshops for eCommerce and telecom sectors; and creating and delivering Scrum Agile training across North America. From 2013 to 2014, he served as an Internal Consultant at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, leading a team to develop an annual strategic and budgetary planning process for a $400 million budget organization. From 2007 to 2012, Russell served in the United States Army as an Infantry Squad Leader and Intelligence Analyst, earning the Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and other honors. He has also provided guest lectures on storytelling for consultants at Rice University and the University of Texas and volunteered as a panelist critiquing presentation skills.
