Jeremy Siemens is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Technology program within the College of Technical Sciences at Montana State University-Northern, where he contributes to technical and career preparation in engineering disciplines. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from Montana State University-Bozeman in 1994. Following graduation, he worked as an engineer for Milk River Engineering, Inc. in Great Falls, Montana, obtaining his Professional Engineer license in Montana in 1998. In 2001, Siemens began part-time teaching in the Civil Engineering Technology program at MSU-Northern, transitioning to full-time faculty in 2004. He completed a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in 2008, the same year he earned his Professional Land Surveyor license. Promoted to Associate Professor, he continues to integrate practical experience into his instruction, providing engineering and surveying services through Siemens Engineering Company while maintaining memberships in the Montana Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Engineers Without Borders, and the Montana Association of Registered Land Surveyors.
Siemens enhances student learning through hands-on activities, including accompanying Civil Engineering Technology students and the American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter on field trips such as the 2020 visit to the Bureau of Land Management's BR-12 Dam reconstruction site. In February 2026, he delivered a Brown Bag Lecture titled 'Engineering Concepts in Education' at MSU-Northern's ATC Hensler Auditorium, presenting on the integration of fundamental engineering topics into undergraduate studies and their metaphorical applications in other educational areas, accessible without prior mathematical knowledge. His professional background and ongoing industry involvement exemplify the practical focus of technical and career education at MSU-Northern, preparing students for real-world engineering and surveying careers. Contactable at his office in Brockmann Center 210-J or by phone at (406) 265-4132, Siemens exemplifies the fusion of academia and professional practice.
