Jessica L. Rigg completed a Doctor of Philosophy at Western Sydney University in 2017. Her thesis examined microbial influences on the conservation and recovery of the Wollemi Pine.

She has co-authored publications including work on soil microbial communities influencing seedling growth of a rare conifer. Her research was conducted through the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment at Western Sydney University.
