About Jinlan

Jinlan Wang is Chief Professor of Physics in the School of Physics at Southeast University in Nanjing, China. She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from Nanjing University in 2002 and completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Chemistry Division at Argonne National Laboratory. In 2006, she joined Southeast University as faculty and established a computational physics and chemistry research group.

Her research focuses on the computational study and design of two-dimensional materials, including their growth mechanisms, electronic and optical properties, and applications in nanocatalysis and functional materials. She has authored hundreds of papers in high-impact journals such as Science, Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, Advanced Materials, and Nano Letters, with total citations exceeding 27,000. Wang has received the Distinguished Young Scholars award from Jiangsu Province in 2013, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars from NSFC in 2015, and recognition under the “333 Project for Distinguished Scholars” in Jiangsu Province in 2016. She serves as an Associate Editor for Nanoscale and Nanoscale Advances.
