Johan C. Moll serves as a Research Fellow at the Unit for Language Facilitation and Empowerment, now incorporated into the Department of South African Sign Language and Deaf Studies at the University of the Free State in the Faculty of Humanities. He has contributed to research outputs in areas including language policy, toponomastics, and language management in South Africa. Moll is the author of publications such as Moedertaalonderrig en taalaktivisme in Suid-Afrika and Kaapstad se “streetgate”: Politieke maneuvers en die Pieter Marais-debakel (1999-2002). He has also produced a monograph on the history of the Unit for Language Facilitation and Empowerment at the University of the Free State covering the period 1992-2018.
