Rate My Professor John Carzoli

Carzoli's contributions to physical therapy education were recognized when he was selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for the 2022-2023 academic year. Under the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program in the discipline of Medical Sciences with specialization in Physical Therapy, he undertook the project 'Elements of Excellence and Signature Pedagogy in Physical Therapy Education' in Bolivia, spanning July 2022 to October 2023 with a flex option. This award enabled him to assist with physical therapy instruction abroad while engaging physical therapy students at WCU in his work. Previously noted as Assistant Professor, his promotion to Associate Professor reflects his growing leadership in the field. Carzoli has sponsored student presentations at WCU's Graduate Research Symposium, including topics on feasibility and effectiveness of interventions and focus of attention in rehabilitation. He has chaired search committees for tenure-track and fixed-term assistant professor positions in physical therapy and attended the APTA Education Leadership Conference. Furthermore, he has integrated University Licensing Select content from Rehab Essentials into the DPT program's learning management system, ensuring alignment with faculty expectations and facilitating efficient implementation. As a member of the NC Agromedicine Institute, he supports initiatives in agricultural medicine and rehabilitation.
