Julie Dumont is a full professor (Professeure des Universités) in section 87 – Sciences biologiques, fondamentales et cliniques at the Faculty of Pharmacy, UFR3S, University of Lille, where she has held this position since 2023. She previously served as Maître de Conférences des Universités from 2009 to 2023. She earned her Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Lille 2 between 1996 and 2003, followed by a Doctorate in Life and Health Sciences from the same institution in 2006. She completed postdoctoral research at UMR 991 Inserm, CHU, University of Rennes 1 from 2007 to 2009 and obtained her HDR from the University of Lille in 2021. Her research focuses on cell biology and molecular genetics, with a primary emphasis on the functional characterization of genetic variants associated with the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Since 2018, she has been part of Team 3 of UMR 1167 RID-AGE, directed by Dr. Jean-Charles Lambert. Earlier work from 2009 to 2017 examined the interactions between genetic factors and diet on lipid metabolism and obesity. She has secured funding as principal investigator or coordinator for projects including a Fondation Vaincre Alzheimer grant (2023–2025) on the PTK2B gene and an ANR PRC grant (2023–2028) on the PLCG2 risk factor at the synapse.
