Júlio César Teixeira serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Tocoginecologia at the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas of Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). He earned his medical degree from the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas at UNICAMP in 1989 and completed residency training in Gynecology and Obstetrics. Since 2019, he has held the position of Associate Professor at the institution. Teixeira directs the Gynecologic and Breast Cancer Division at the Women's Hospital (Hospital da Mulher) of UNICAMP, where his clinical and academic work centers on gynecologic oncology. His research emphasizes cervical cancer prevention, including the implementation and evaluation of HPV DNA testing for screening within Brazil's public health system and participation in studies on HPV vaccination efficacy and cervical lesion management. Teixeira has contributed to collaborative international research efforts examining HPV vaccine performance in preventing infections and precancerous conditions. He maintains an active role in academic training and research supervision within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UNICAMP.
