Dr. June Cao is a Lecturer in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance within the Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University. She serves as a Research Data Champion, advocating for effective research data management and sharing skills with colleagues and higher degree by research students. Her research specializations include environmental regulation, corporate governance, auditing, accountability, carbon accounting, CSR, ESG reporting, green innovation, sustainability reporting, integrated reporting, non-financial disclosure, and green supply chain management. Cao employs advanced quantitative methods such as big data analytics, textual analysis, machine learning, and large language models in her work. She holds a PhD and professional qualifications including Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia), Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) certified sustainability professional.
During her tenure at Curtin University, Cao has earned significant recognition, including Full Fellow of the Curtin Academy (2024), Associate Fellow of the Curtin Academy (2023), Faculty of Business and Law Research Output of the Year Award (2024), Faculty New Researcher of the Year Awards (2023), Faculty Research Awards New Researcher of the Year highly commended (2021), Faculty Global Positioning Award for International Engagement (2021), University Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching - Teaching Excellence Award (2022), Faculty of Business and Law Teaching Excellence Award - Early Career (2022), and multiple Certificates of Appreciation from CPA Australia for 100% student pass rates in CPA examinations (2023, 2022, 2021, 2020).
