Dr. Justin McGlothin is an Associate Teaching Professor of Management and First-Year Integrated Core in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. In this role, he serves as the Assistant Director of Miami PRIME, BUS 101 Team Lead, and is a key member of the First-Year Integrated Core faculty team. He teaches courses such as BUS 101 and BUS 102, conducts research on augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies, and advises the Digital Scholars Club. McGlothin joined Miami University in August 2018 as a Visiting Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Teaching Professor in April 2025 by the Miami University Board of Trustees.
McGlothin holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University (2015), with a dissertation titled "Perceived Best Practices that Financial Aid Professionals Use to Teach College Students about Financial Literacy." He also earned a Master of Science in Accounting from South University (2017), a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix (2007), and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Phoenix (2006). Prior to his faculty position at Miami University, McGlothin has held leadership roles in higher education administration and entrepreneurship. Since January 2017, he has been President of Higher Ed Media in Cincinnati, OH, offering marketing, advertising, consulting, and audio/video production services. He serves as Adjunct Faculty at Kansas Wesleyan University since January 2018, where he redesigned and taught Managerial Economics and Statistical Analysis for Business in the MBA program. His previous positions include National Director of Campus Services at Brown Mackie College from December 2010 to December 2017, leading teams managing financial aid, student accounting, registrar operations, and veteran affairs; Director of Student Financial Services at South University from July 2007 to December 2010; and Financial Aid Manager at the University of Phoenix from January 2004 to July 2007. He developed a financial literacy-based counseling program that resulted in reduced student loan borrowing and significant improvements in 90/10 compliance.
