Dr Kabiri Bule is a senior researcher at the African Centre for Migration & Society (ACMS) at the University of the Witwatersrand. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and a PhD in Migration and Displacement from the same institution. Her research focuses on the intersection of urban and migration studies, examining the impact of migration and human mobility on urban politics in African cities, including notions of belonging, cultural diversity, and mobility aspirations in neighbourhoods undergoing constant change.
Dr Bule has contributed to scholarly work on these themes, including the 2025 article 'Mobility, diversity, & speculative racial capital: navigating inclusion and exclusion in an African urban gateway' co-authored with Loren B. Landau. She also serves in roles involving data analysis, project coordination, and governance and urban systems at the university.
