Karina Buchanan serves as an Analyst within the Continuous Improvement Team of the Transformation and Improvement Office at the University of Otago. This office, situated under the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, is dedicated to driving change, innovation, and improvement across the university. Key functions include developing robust business cases, designing user-friendly services, enhancing core processes through projects and continuous optimisation, and measuring the value added to the organisation. The Continuous Improvement Team, where Buchanan works, focuses on process management, ongoing improvement efforts, automation, service design, and operating innovation labs in the Plaza Building on Anzac Avenue in Dunedin. As a Process Improvement Analyst, she contributes to these initiatives alongside colleagues such as Francesca Jackson, Manager Process Improvement, Michael Hall, Analyst, and others in the team.
