Kate Terrado is the head of the Design division and Associate Teaching Professor in the College of Arts, Media, and Design at Northeastern University. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and an MFA in Information Design + Visualization from Northeastern University. Terrado's research activity focuses on the integration of temporal principles into the process and practice of design. Her work finds form in the intersections of design, technology, and built environments. Using interactive data visualization, dynamic typography, physical installations, and immersive media as tools for communication, Kate Terrado has developed a portfolio that demonstrates keen insight into client goals, audience engagement, public spaces, and appropriate use of technology. Notable projects include collaborations with Biogen, Boston Public Library, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New-York Historical Society, and Nobel Peace Center.
