Kavan Chay serves as Teaching Fellow – eLearning Facilitator in the Medical Education Unit of the Faculty of Medicine – Dunedin at the University of Otago. He is affiliated with the Otago Medical School and the Office of the Dean (DSM) within the Health Sciences Division. In this capacity, Chay contributes to medical education efforts, particularly supporting the Advanced Learning in Medicine (ALM) programme.
On 8 August 2024, Kavan Chay received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the ALM programme at the ALM Teaching Awards ceremony. This accolade recognizes his impactful work in e-learning facilitation for medical education at the University of Otago. Additionally, Chay’s astrophotography has been highlighted in University of Otago news, with his Milky Way image selected among the world’s best in 2024.
