Rate My Professor Kelly Burrowes

Kelly Burrowes is an Associate Professor at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, University of Auckland. She obtained her Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours, specialising in Chemical and Materials Engineering, from the University of Auckland. She completed her PhD in Bioengineering at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute in 2005 and was subsequently awarded a post-doctoral fellowship funded through the EPSRC UK at the Life Sciences Interface.

Her research focuses on developing new methods for measuring, predicting and understanding how the body is functioning, with a predominant emphasis on the lungs and respiratory health. She has been recognised with a James Cook Research Fellowship from the Royal Society Te Apārangi in 2023 for her work in this area. Burrowes is also the founder of The FemTech Revolution. Her academic appointments include roles at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Auckland. She maintains an active research profile with numerous publications in bioengineering and related fields.
