Kelsey Schutte is a Communications Adviser at the University of Otago, currently supporting the Division of Health Sciences and previously the Otago Business School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree with first class honours in Communications from Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Prior to joining the University of Otago Advisory team in 2021, she worked in communications roles at Whakarongorau Aotearoa (New Zealand Telehealth Service), AUT, Fletcher Building, and other organisations. Her Master’s thesis focused on public relations and emerging technologies. Schutte’s main areas of interest include public relations, artificial intelligence, digital media, and ethics.
In her role, Schutte has authored numerous kōrero pieces and news articles for the University of Otago Newsroom, covering topics such as the Otago Business School’s hospitality and tourism management programme ranking 23rd worldwide, climate change risks to property values by Professor Ivan Diaz-Rainey, PCARN bringing palliative care researchers together, and celebrations of achievements in neuroendocrinology, biostatistics, and teaching excellence within Health Sciences. Her contributions highlight research, rankings, events, and staff accomplishments across various divisions.
