Kendall L. Kerew is the Associate Dean for Experiential Education, Clinical Professor, and Director of the Externship Program at the Georgia State University College of Law. She holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law and a B.A. from Emory University. With more than 20 years as a faculty member at Georgia State Law, Kerew has led the externship program for over a decade, developing experiential learning opportunities that integrate doctrinal knowledge with practical skills. Her career emphasizes clinical legal education, professional development, and innovative teaching methods to prepare students for legal practice.
Kerew's research specializes in professional identity formation, the lawyer's role as a public citizen, mindfulness and emotional intelligence in lawyering, and challenges in legal education such as ABA Standard 303 and divisive concepts legislation. Kerew received the Maleski Award for Teaching Excellence in 2017, served as President of the Clinical Legal Education Association, and is a Holloran Center Fellow.
