Kenneth A. Goroshko serves as Executive in Residence in the Economics, Finance, and Insurance department at the Barney School of Business, University of Hartford. An alumnus of the institution, he earned a BS in Economics, MA in Economics and Research, MBA in Finance, and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Investment Analysis from the Barney School of Business. Goroshko brings over 35 years of experience in corporate risk management and insurance to academia, with previous employment at The Travelers Insurance, UnitedHealthcare, and The Hartford. His professional expertise spans group benefits, pension investment analysis, absence management, integrated benefits, property and casualty insurance, workers compensation, disability insurance, and life insurance. He also has experience in financial underwriting, data analytics, sales, and national client relationship management, including association with GBDS.
In addition to his teaching roles in economics, finance, risk management and insurance, and risk and disruptive technology with experiential project learnings at the Barney School of Business, Goroshko is the principal relationship contact with the Connecticut Business Industry Association (CBIA). He directs the Risk and Disruptive Technology Institute at the University of Hartford. Prior to his full-time appointment effective Fall 2023 after serving part-time, he taught economics in the Arts and Sciences department at Quinnipiac University and finance in the UCONN Waterbury MBA Graduate Cohort Program. Goroshko effectively bridges industry practice and academic instruction, offering students practical insights into risk management, insurance, and related fields.
