Dr. Kenneth Ke serves as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accounting, part of the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance within Curtin Business School at Curtin University's Faculty of Business and Law. With academic qualifications including a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), Master of Commerce, and Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from Curtin University of Technology, complemented by his status as a Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA), Dr. Ke has established himself as a dedicated educator and researcher in the accounting discipline. He currently teaches Management Accounting courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, frequently serving as unit coordinator for ACCT2002 Cost Analysis for Decision Making, a core unit that equips students with essential skills in cost analysis techniques for business decision-making. His teaching emphasizes practical applications of management accounting principles, drawing on real-world scenarios to enhance student understanding and preparedness for professional practice.
Dr. Ke's research interests align with key issues in accounting practice and performance evaluation. He has co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles, including 'Accounting Public Practice and Employee Job Satisfaction Today: Professional Values, Organisational Commitment and Employee Intention to Turnover in Accounting Firms' published in 2006 in The Journal of Contemporary Issues in Business and Government. This study investigates the perceived gaps in professional values within public practice firms and their associations with job satisfaction, organisational commitment, and turnover intentions among accountants. Another notable contribution is 'Assessment of Individual Research Performance for UK and Irish Accounting and Finance Academics,' co-authored with colleagues from Curtin University of Technology, which analyzes metrics for evaluating research output in the field. These publications reflect Dr. Ke's engagement with contemporary challenges in accounting education, professional development, and research assessment. As a FCPA, he integrates industry insights into his academic role, contributing to the training of future accounting professionals at Curtin University.
