Dr. Khodayar Yeganegi is a Dentist affiliated with the Dental School at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA), University of Western Australia. In his current role, he serves as the Supervising Dentist in General Practice at the UWA dental clinic in Bunbury, Western Australia, where he functions as the sole tutor in charge of the clinic. Hailing from the Maldives Islands, Dr. Yeganegi completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2002 and Master of Dental Surgery in Pediatric Dentistry in 2006. He passed the Australian Dental Council Examinations in October 2014, allowing him to practice dentistry professionally in Australia. His multilingual abilities include proficiency in English, Farsi (Persian), Hindi, Dhivehi (Maldivian), and Kannada, enabling effective communication with a diverse range of patients and students.
Dr. Yeganegi's career encompasses both clinical practice and academic teaching. He previously worked as a General Dentist in private practice in the Maldives and held the position of Senior Lecturer, equivalent to Assistant Professor, in Pediatric Dentistry at JSS Dental College and Hospital in Mysore, India. At the University of Western Australia, his responsibilities focus on supervising dental students and managing clinical operations at the Bunbury clinic. In recognition of his dedication to teaching and support for dental students, he received the University Dental Students' Society (UDSS) Honorary Life Membership in 2022. Dr. Yeganegi has contributed to the academic literature with his publication 'Tooth surface protection for individuals who are mentally disabled,' co-authored with Shobha Tandon and published in Special Care in Dentistry in 2008. This work explores protective measures for oral health in individuals with mental disabilities.
