Dr. Kousalya G is a Professor and Dean in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, serving in this role since 2025. She earned her PhD from Anna University in 2008 and her ME from College of Engineering, Guindy in 2001. Her extensive career in academia began in 1992 as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Sri RamaKrishna College of Arts and Science for Women, where she advanced to Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 2001 to 2012. Subsequently, she served as Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Coimbatore Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2023, followed by a tenure as Dean in the same department at Dayananda Sagar University from 2023 to 2024. Throughout her career, Dr. Kousalya G has demonstrated leadership in engineering education and research, particularly in distributed systems and cyber security.
Dr. Kousalya G has made significant contributions to research, with 104 publications including journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and one book. Her work has garnered 282 citations and an h-index of 10, reflecting her impact in the field. She has guided over 15 PhD theses at Anna University, covering advanced topics such as augmenting wearable monitors with IoT-blockchain for disease projections, computer vision techniques for COVID-19 contact tracing, sink relocation in wireless sensor networks, security and resource allocation in cloud services, and multi-objective heuristics for workflow scheduling in heterogeneous clouds.
