Rate My Professor Kris Tiernan

Tiernan emphasizes experiential learning to prepare students for clinical practice. She leads nursing students on visits to Camp Courageous four times a year, offering hands-on experience in caring for individuals with disabilities and enhancing their clinical skills in real-world settings. In May 2024, as part of Clarke University's summer camps, Tiernan co-led the Wellness Camp for children ages 8-11, guiding participants through activities promoting health fundamentals, including nature walks, mindfulness practices, first aid instruction, reading food labels, and utilizing the Clarke Nursing Simulation Lab for interactive learning. She has also served as a key departmental contact for recruiting adjunct nursing faculty, supporting the program's clinical education needs. Recently honored as Faculty Emerita in the 2024-2025 faculty and staff recognition, Tiernan's tenure has left a lasting legacy in fostering competent, compassionate nursing professionals at Clarke University.
