Kristy Millar is the Marsh Study Centre Supervisor at the University of Otago, operating within Campus and Collegiate Life Services under the University Union. Located at 697 Castle Street in Dunedin, the Marsh Study Centre provides a dedicated, comfortable study space for students, featuring University Wi-Fi, study rooms, outside seating, and extended hours during semester periods: Monday to Friday from 8am to 10pm and Saturday to Sunday from 10am to 10pm. In her role, Millar oversees the operations of this facility, which was converted from the former Gardens Tavern pub in 2012 and recognized with a 2013 NZIA Local Award for Architecture.
In October 2022, as study centre manager, Kristy Millar contributed to celebrating the University of Otago's first Chief Operating Officer Award winner, Mark Hanson, by arranging a coffee mug printed with his photo, enhancing the festive atmosphere alongside displays on a Big Ben pie sign and in napkin holders. She has also served as a contact point for job applications, including acting as Operations Manager for the University of Otago Union in certain postings. Her work supports student welfare and campus life in Dunedin.
