Rate My Professor Leena Ragha

Dr. Leena Ragha serves as Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Vice Principal (Administration) at V P Dr PG Halakatti College of Engineering & Technology, Vijayapur. She earned her B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Karnataka University in 1991, M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from BITS Pilani in 1995, and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology from SNDT Women's University, Mumbai, in 2012. Throughout her over three-decades-long career in engineering education, she held positions at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, Navi Mumbai, progressing from Lecturer (1992-1998) and Senior Lecturer (1998-2001) to Assistant Professor (2001-2012) and Professor (2012-2023), including Head of the Department of Computer Engineering (2002-2006 and 2012-2022). She also served as Deputy Registrar at D.Y. Patil University (2022-2023), approved Ph.D. guide and postgraduate teacher for University of Mumbai and D.Y. Patil University in Computer Engineering and Information Technology, and visiting faculty for Wipro Infotech Ltd. and ITM Mumbai.

Dr. Ragha's research interests encompass Pattern Recognition, Data Science, Information Security, and Natural Language Processing. She has contributed 99 publications from 2009 to 2025, comprising 11 journal articles, 4 book chapters, and 60 conference proceedings, with 166 citations and an h-index of 8. Key works include the journal article "A hybrid random forest based feature selection model using mutual information and F-score for preterm birth classification" (International Journal of Medical Engineering and Informatics, 2023, co-authored with Himani S. Deshpande); "Development of NCL Model of Information" (International Journal of High Performance Computing Applications, 2022, co-authored with Jatin Gharat et al.); and book chapters such as "Cyber threat mitigation using Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain" (CRC Press, 2023, co-authored with Snehal Paddalwar and Vanita Mane). She holds two patents under examination: "User Centric Augmented Reality System for Visualizing Tangible and Intangible Heritage" and "A Smart System with real time evaluation."
