Liane Sim serves as Teaching Laboratory Technician in the Department of Anatomy within the Division of Health Sciences at the University of Otago. In this role, she supports the practical components of anatomy education by managing teaching laboratories and ensuring facilities are prepared for student use.
Her contributions include assisting with laboratory maintenance efforts that supported the Department of Anatomy's recognition in global rankings, achieving 24th place worldwide in 2017. Liane Sim has participated in outreach initiatives such as the Hands-on at Otago programme, providing Year 12 and 13 students with hands-on experience in anatomy in 2018. She has also engaged in departmental educational demonstrations, including a science lab activity featured in university newsletters.
