Dr. Lina Bariah serves as an Adjunct Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow at Khalifa University. She received her M.Sc. degree in 2015 and her Ph.D. degree in communications engineering in 2018, both from Khalifa University. Her work centers on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their applications in 6G networks and wireless communications. She has held the role of Lead AI Scientist at Open Innovation AI and previously served as a Senior Researcher at the Technology Innovation Institute. Additional appointments include Visiting Researcher at Carleton University in 2019, Affiliate Research Fellow at the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow, and Adjunct Research Professor at Western University in Canada. She also acts as a consultant in AI and data science at LightOn in France.
Dr. Bariah is a Senior Member of the IEEE, the IEEE Communications Society, the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, and IEEE Women in Engineering. She founded and leads the Women in Machine Learning and Data Science Abu Dhabi Chapter. She has contributed as Associate Editor for IEEE Communications Letters and the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, Area Editor for Physical Communication, and in guest editor roles for IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Network Magazine, and the IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology. She holds positions including Industry Chair for the IEEE GenAINet ETI, member of the Technical Advisory Committee for AI for Good, Steering Board Member of the Wireless World Research Forum, and Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. She has been recognized among the 100 Brilliant and Inspiring Women in 6G by the Women in 6G organization.
