Dr Lindokuhle Ngema is a postdoctoral fellow at the Wits Advanced Drug Delivery Platform (WADDP) at the University of the Witwatersrand. He holds a PhD in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics), an MMedSci in Pharmaceutical Chemistry awarded cum laude, and a BSc Hons in Biochemistry. His research focuses on nanomedicine, advanced drug delivery systems, targeted therapy, and drug development, with particular emphasis on inhalable nanosystems for tuberculosis treatment that encapsulate multiple standard anti-TB drugs for direct lung delivery.
Ngema previously conducted doctoral research at the WADDP on cancer nanomedicine and completed a Fulbright Foreign Student Program placement at Johns Hopkins University, where he trained in nanoparticle drug delivery and immunoadjuvants. He has also held a TWAS fellowship at RWTH Aachen University Hospital in Germany. His work contributes to efforts addressing challenges in TB therapy, including treatment duration, adherence, and drug resistance. Ngema is listed as a postdoctoral fellow in Health Sciences Research and Innovation at Wits.
