Professor Lisa Calderwood is Professor of Survey Research and Managing Director of the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS) at the UCL Social Research Institute. She also serves as Co-Director of the Early Life Cohort Feasibility Study. With over 20 years of experience in the design and implementation of complex, large-scale longitudinal surveys, her work centres on survey methodology, including non-response, innovations in participant engagement, new technologies and mixed-modes of data collection, administrative data linkage, and the integration of bio-measures in social surveys.
Professor Calderwood maintains strong national and international networks within the cohort studies community. She coordinates the cohort network of the Society for Lifecourse and Longitudinal Studies and contributes to the European-wide COORDINATE and GUIDE initiatives. In 2025, she was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in recognition of her contributions to the field.
