About Lochan

Dr. Lochan Jolly serves as a Professor in the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department at Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET), Mumbai, while also holding the position of Dean of Student and Staff Welfare. She possesses a Ph.D. in Electronics and Telecommunication, an M.Tech in Microelectronics, and a B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. With over 23 years of teaching experience, she specializes in areas such as Microelectronics and VLSI, Optical Communication, and Satellite Communication. Her doctoral research focused on Modeling of Field Effect Transistor under Illumination for Optoelectronics Applications, complemented by her M.Tech project on Fabrication and Characterization of EIS Capacitors and B.E. project on Satellite Tracking Chain Simulator.

Dr. Jolly has made significant contributions through publications including 'Analysis of FWM Effect in Multichannel Optical Communication System' (2013, with B.K. Mishra), 'A Technique to Enhance The Performance of GaAs MESFET' (2011, with B.K. Mishra and Kalawati Patil), and 'Characterization of optically controlled ion implanted In1-xGaxAs' (2011). She has secured grants from organizations such as DST, IEEE Region 10, AICTE, and the University of Mumbai for projects like Next Generation Farming, Structural Health Monitoring, and various STTPs on Design Thinking and Photonics. Active in outreach, she leads the STEM initiative Techworld, contributes to FOSSEE IIT Bombay with SCILAB textbook companions for fiber optics texts like Fiber Optic Communications by J.C. Palais, and organizes workshops on Arduino, Scilab, and Education 4.0. Her accolades include the Best Employee Award (2008), Appreciation Awards for STEM from R2iW and Rotary Club, FOSSEE Award, IEI Excellence Award, AICTE UKERI Leadership selection, IEEE STEM Ambassador status, and Teacher Excellence Award by Shikshak Kalyan Foundation. A Senior Member of IEEE and Lifetime Member of ISTE and IETE, she has served on syllabus setting committees for Optical Fiber Communication courses.
