Luanne Benson-Lender is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences and Director of the Math Tutoring Lab at the University of Indianapolis. She earned a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Evansville in 2008 and an M.A. from Indiana University in 2010. Prior to her current position, Benson-Lender taught mathematics at a community college for 11 years. Her teaching portfolio during that period included Statistics, Mathematics for Teachers, College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and Finite Mathematics. This extensive experience in foundational mathematics courses has equipped her to effectively support undergraduate students in their mathematical development at the University of Indianapolis.
At UIndy, Luanne Benson-Lender's area of expertise lies in introductory undergraduate mathematics courses, complemented by her research interests in mathematics pedagogy. As Director of the Math Tutoring Lab, she oversees operations that provide drop-in tutoring services, ensuring no appointments are necessary for students seeking assistance in various mathematical topics. She maintains active involvement in key professional organizations, serving as Secretary of the Indiana Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (InMATYC) and participating in the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC).
