About Lynn

Dr. Lynn White serves as Associate Professor and Program Director of Nursing in the School of Health Professions at Augustana University. She holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (2017), an MSN in Adult Health and Illness from the same institution (2006), and a BSN from South Dakota State University (1991). Certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist board certified (ACNS-BC), White joined Augustana University in 2006 as Assistant Professor of Nursing and has since progressed to her current role. She teaches sophomore, junior, and senior-level nursing courses and maintains an active clinical practice at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center, where she applies her expertise in adult health.

White's research specializations center on symptom management and self-efficacy among patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, as well as the transitional experiences of new nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her notable publications include 'Self-Efficacy for Management of Symptoms and Symptom Distress During Stem Cell Transplant With Blood or Marrow: A Feasibility Study' in Oncology Nursing Forum (2019), 'Self-efficacy for symptom management in the acute phase of hematopoietic stem cell transplant: A pilot study' in European Journal of Oncology Nursing (2019), and 'The lived experience of nurses transitioning to professional practice during the COVID-19 pandemic' in Journal of Advanced Nursing (2022). These works have contributed to understanding patient outcomes and nursing education. In 2020, she received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty, recognizing her leadership, mentorship, and dedication to students. As Chief Nurse Administrator, White oversees the CCNE-accredited baccalaureate nursing program, advancing simulation-based learning and fostering international collaborations, such as the Norwegian Nursing Exchange Program with Nord University. Her efforts enhance clinical preparation and global perspectives in nursing education.
