Rate My Professor M Srinivas

Professor M Srinivas is a distinguished medical professional specializing in pediatric surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He holds an MBBS, MS in General Surgery, and MCh in Pediatric Surgery from AIIMS New Delhi, along with additional qualifications including MNASc, FISPU, FRCS (Glasgow), and DSc. He joined AIIMS in 1994 and was appointed Professor of Pediatric Surgery in 2011. Throughout his career, he has authored more than 200 international scientific publications and trained thousands of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

Professor Srinivas served as Founder Dean of ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Hyderabad, from 2016 to 2022, where he contributed to the establishment of new medical colleges and postgraduate courses. He was appointed Director and CEO of AIIMS New Delhi in September 2022, a position he held until April 2026, during which AIIMS achieved the 105th position in the QS World University Rankings (2026) and sixth place in worldwide Brand Finance rankings. He has held numerous leadership roles, including Visiting Professor at IIT Madras, IISc Bengaluru, and South Asian University; Chairperson of the Research Council at CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology; and Additional Director of TANUH at IISc Bengaluru. His honors include five gold medals during MBBS and the U.C. Chakraborthy Award from the Indian Association of Paediatric Surgeons. He is currently a Member of NITI Aayog.
