Magda Aldousany

Dr. Magda Aldousany is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Sciences at the University of Miami School of Education and Human Development, serving as Director of the Master of Science in Athletic Training program. A certified athletic trainer and licensed physical therapist, she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2013 and two bachelor's degrees from the University of Miami: a Bachelor of Science in Education in Athletic Training and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both in 2009. Her certifications include Active Release Technique Full Body Provider (2016, renewed 2021-2022), Graston Technique Specialist (2014), and Kinesio Taping Practitioner (2014). Clinically, she worked as a Physical Therapist at Kindred Hospital (2014-2015, 2016), private contract Physical Therapist (2016-2018), and Certified Football Athletic Trainer Intern at the University of Miami (2009-2010).

Aldousany's academic career at the University of Miami began in 2015 as a Lecturer, progressing to Assistant Clinical Professor (2018-2023), Interim Program Director (January-August 2020), Program Director (August 2020-present), and Associate Clinical Professor (June 2023-present). Her scholarly work includes co-authoring the chapter "Chest Wall Disorders" in Clinical Guide to Musculoskeletal Medicine (Springer Nature Switzerland AG, 2022, pp. 151-166). She has secured funding as principal investigator for the Magic Leap Learning Initiative grant "Modeling Athletic Injuries with Magic Leap" ($10,000, 2020) and as co-investigator for the XR University of Miami Faculty Award "Effectiveness of instructing anatomy topics via virtual reality" ($13,000, 2024). Aldousany has presented at conferences such as the 74th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo (2023), Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand Annual Conference (2022), and Global Sport Business Association Conference (2022), and moderated NATA sessions (2018). She supervises student research, including posters on knee injuries, abscess treatments, and hand fractures at symposia.

Recognized with student-nominated Athletic Training Faculty Support Awards (2016, 2018-2020) and AT Special Recognition Awards (2021, 2023-2024), she is a Fellow in the Faculty Learning Community on Learning through Dialogue and Discussion (2024). Her service roles include Associate Chair of the Kinesiology Department (2024-present), Faculty Senate SEHD Representative (2023-present), Graduate Curriculum Committee Chair (2022-present), and faculty advisor to the Beach Volleyball Club and Miami UJhoom Dance Team.
