Dr. Majedul Islam serves as an Instructor and Sessional Academic in the School of Management and Marketing, Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University, Australia. He obtained his PhD in Luxury Retail Customer Experience from the School of Management and Marketing at Curtin University. He also holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, and an MBA in Technology Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. With 17 years of experience in marketing spanning industry and academia, his professional career includes the role of Commercial Manager at GrameenPhone Limited in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from November 2007 to January 2011. At the University of Rajshahi's Department of Marketing in Bangladesh, he progressed from Lecturer from January 2011 to January 2014, to Assistant Professor from January 2014 to August 2020, and has been Associate Professor since August 2020.
Dr. Islam's academic interests focus on customer experience, luxury brands, technology management, and digital wellbeing. He demonstrates proficiency in academic writing, qualitative and quantitative analysis, research methodology, data collection, report writing, and data analysis using tools such as Python, UCINET, R Statistical Package, and multivariate statistics.
