Man Djun Lee's research specializations center on renewable energy extraction, wastewater treatment using agricultural waste, and innovative biomass utilization. He received a Gold Medal at the International Virtual Expo of Innovation Product and System Design 2023 (INVIDE2023) for his invention 'Sustainable Papermaking with Oil Palm Frond Biomass'. This project develops a method to enhance recycled paper strength by blending oil palm frond fiber with newspaper pulp, countering hornification effects. Testing involved three fiber loading percentages, assessing tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, and fiber morphology via scanning electron microscopy.
