Marcia Marlene Monghate is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Undergraduate Nursing, College of Nursing and Health Innovation at the University of Texas at Arlington. She possesses a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Oklahoma School of Public Health with a focus on Human Ecology, Social Science, and Health Behavior, and is All But Dissertation (ABD) in Public Health. Monghate is licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) and certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist-Board Certified (PMHCNS-BC), and Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). Her listed skills and expertise include counseling, autism spectrum disorders, psychopathology, psychoeducation, child and adolescent psychiatry, and teaching and learning. These qualifications position her to contribute significantly to nursing education in Health Science areas, particularly psychiatric-mental health nursing.
Minghate has been affiliated with the University of Texas at Arlington since 2015, starting as a Clinical Instructor and advancing to Clinical Assistant Professor. She teaches undergraduate courses in psychiatric-mental health nursing, including NURS 3381 and NURS 3481: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing of Individuals, Families, and Groups, which cover holistic care provision. As an APRN Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist-Board Certified practicing in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, she integrates clinical experience into her academic role. Monghate is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) and was listed in the Addictions Council activity report for 2016.
