Rate My Professor Márcio Moretto

Márcio Moretto Ribeiro is a professor at the Escola de Artes, Ciências e Humanidades of the Universidade de São Paulo (EACH-USP). He holds a bachelor's degree in Molecular Sciences from the Universidade de São Paulo, awarded in 2006, and a doctorate in Computer Science from the same institution, completed in 2010. His academic work centers on information systems, with research interests including knowledge representation, belief revision, non-classical logics, and the analysis of political debate in digital media.

Ribeiro serves as a coordinator of the Monitor do Debate Político no Meio Digital project and has been involved with the Grupo de Políticas Públicas para o Acesso à Informação (GPoPAI). He has authored or co-authored numerous publications, including the book Belief Revision in Non-Classical Logics (2012) and the article “O que são e como lidar com as notícias falsas” (2018, co-authored with Pablo Ortellado). Additional works address topics such as political polarization on social media and ontology debugging. Ribeiro is also active in university governance, including as president of the Associação dos Docentes da Universidade de São Paulo (Adusp).
