About Margaret

Margaret Allman-Farinelli is Professor of Dietetics in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. She currently holds the position of Discipline Lead and Director of Nutrition and Dietetics, serving as an L2 Supervisor. Affiliated with the Charles Perkins Centre, her research addresses key challenges in nutrition and public health. Professor Allman-Farinelli obtained all her qualifications from the University of Sydney, including a BSc, Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics (DipNutrDiet), MPhil in Public Health (MPhilPH), and PhD. Her career at the University of Sydney dates back to at least 2008, with prior associations including the School of Life and Environmental Sciences and Molecular Bioscience in the Faculty of Science.

Her research specializations encompass nutrition and dietetics, with particular emphasis on obesity prevention and weight gain management in young adults, dietary behaviors, food choice influences, digital health technologies such as mobile applications for lifestyle interventions, and dietary assessment quality in clinical trials.
