A true mentor who cares about success.
Margot Rohan serves as Senior Project Manager in Property Services at the University of Otago's Dunedin Campus, part of the Property and Campus Development Division. In this capacity, she oversees capital works projects that support the university's infrastructure, including construction, development, and maintenance initiatives across campus facilities. Her direct dial is +64 3 556 7655 and mobile is +64 27 952 5188. Property Services handles a broad spectrum of operations such as building maintenance, trade services including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, energy and building controls, building compliance, custodial services, mail services, planning, asset management, and capital works delivery.
A prominent example of her project management is the refurbishment of the Castle Wing at Cumberland College. Rohan collaborated with college warden Luke Morrison, project manager Kirsten Eichstaedt, Head of Capital Works Wes Jenkins, the Property & Campus Development team, and contractors Southbase Group to complete phase one over the summer break, ensuring it was ready for students by the end of Flo Week 2026. Improvements encompassed compliance and infrastructure upgrades, enhanced accessibility, installation of a new sprinkler system and fire doors, refurbished bathrooms, updated carpets, paint, lighting, exterior wall insulation on upper floors, and addition of shared laundries, kitchens, and common rooms. This multi-phase project, with subsequent stages planned for 2026/27 and 2027-28, addresses long-overdue enhancements to the 7,814.91m² college housing 325 students, minimizing disruption to occupancy.
