Marie Loper Maxwell, known professionally as Marie Maxwell, was a doctoral student at Texas A&M University-Commerce, earning her EdD. Her research interests encompass best practices for training pre-service and in-service teachers to address the needs of struggling readers. She co-authored the peer-reviewed article titled 'Critical, Compelling, and Linguistically Scaffolded Literature: Implementing Text Sets Multilingually for Social Justice,' published in the Texas Journal of Literacy Education, Volume 7, Issue 1, Summer 2019, with Alexandra Babino and Juan J. Araujo. This work highlights her contributions to literacy education and multilingual instructional strategies promoting social justice. As part of the Education faculty at Tarrant County College District Office, Maxwell supports the preparation of future educators through her teaching and scholarly activities.
